Camminare Noir Grapes - Second Crop
I thought my grape season was over. But as they say, it ain't over until the fat lady sings. Camminare Noir grapes seem to want to give me a rather sizable second crop. Exploring Pierce's disease resistant grapes on the Texas Coast.

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor
      @MarkFerdinandAuthor Месяц назад

      Correct. That was not necessary for me. Maybe the key was renting the puller from Oreilley's to pull it? I don't have anything else to compare my experience with but FYI mine was a 2wd also. Just try it. Good luck!

    Wow, I'm glad I saw your video because this other dude had taken all his fans out and the radiator and all this other crap and made it look like an all-day next day job damn !! You didn't seem to have to take any of that stuff out? All you did was went straight for the harmonic balancer. Seemed pretty cut-and-dry to me. The other video I watched of this other fellow, I wasn't understanding why he was taking so much stuff off just to get you the harmonic balancer? Thanks and again I'm glad I watched your video instead of going with this other guys video

    Just FYI, neither what you have as champanel or what you have a Catawba appear to actually be those varieties. The real champanel has seeds, and in the video you mentioned what you have as champanel doesn't. Also champanel pretty much never goes above 15-16 brix, and it's not uncommon for it to be lower than that. Clusters are smaller too. Your Catawba variety also appears incorrect. The leaves of what you have appear to be something vinifera, and Catawba is a labrusca hybrid. The other varieties appear correct.

    • @444SRD
      @444SRD 2 месяца назад

      After rewatching your video, I suspect what you have are champanel is actually the variety mars, and what you have as Catawba may very well be the variety chamborcin.

    • @MarkFerdinandAuthor
      @MarkFerdinandAuthor 2 месяца назад

      It certainly wouldn't be the first time Lowe's mis-labeled their plants. I'm not finding Mars to be known for having brix levels this high either though. The Champanel was a one-time purchase a few years ago. The Catawba, however, are sold at Lowe's as Catawba year after year. So if they are not, they haven't corrected it yet.

    • @444SRD
      @444SRD 2 месяца назад

      Mars isn't known for being a super high brix cultivar no, but it is usually higher than champanel. You also said what you had was seedless, and if it's seedless there are only a handful of options for seedless labrusca type grapes that are black.

It will get to a point it becomes too heavy, and can move it, or is there breeds or species that stay small and still give me a coconut a time or two per summer? I was in Florida on vacation about 20 years ago, and some of those palm trees looked like they were 75 feet tall.. On the camminare noir I am noticing that some shoots are wanting to grow up and some sideways. Last week I added a catch wire at 30" high and I am already using it to bring shoots down and tie them to it. This variety is really growing vigorously already and I have over 20 potential clusters already forming. Hoping to update soon.

    Answer this question, so the dealership issued a service bulletin on replacing the harmonic balancer, all new balancers are machines differently than the original one, don’t know why, but the dealership said you have to remove the oil slinger behind the timing chain cover, if you don’t, the pulley/harmonic balancer will not be lined up with the belt and you will eat drive belts up, and cause more damage… I’d like to know if this is true… I’ve compared my old balancer with the new one from Napa, there is a clear difference in height between mine and the new one… can anyone confirm this…
